With concern for our environment comes
questions regarding the source and gathering practices for the shells
we supply. The majority of our shells are by-products of the
seafood industry and are gathered for their meat and not solely for
their shells. We DO NOT carry specimen shells or shells that are
endangered or threatened. This is the reason that certain shells
become unavailable from time to time to prevent " over
gathering". Also, none of our shells are collected by a
means called "dynamiting". We do not carry corals
because no matter how regulated, we feel that the harvest
of coral does negatively impact the environment.
